Thanka Rob, you knoked it outbof the park again, i love this line so much "and we still have an existencial crisis of unrealized human potential."

I connect with all your words, these truths need to be heard, these stories need to be told.

The contrast if working at the shelter vs SRP are astounding, the progress i witness due to safety ans security, support, a sense of belonging, purpose, connection are all things that are contributing to realizing human potential.

I am grateful for ANKORS and the work you do in supporting those in need!!!

I really appreciate your words, and your work, Sandra. Thank you! The unrealized potential is such a big part of the grief held by the people we work with. The comparison you make between the shelter and the support/recovery house is poignant. That support and security you speak of, the belonging and sense of purpose are critical. Again, thank you for what you do, and for taking the time with these stories.

Very well written, and informative. I didn’t even know any of this is going on. Thank you Robert. I think the new mandates are probably better. I walked by a woman on the street this morning, near my house, and she was lying on the sidewalk with her head in front of her in a sitting position but stooped right over. Was really hard to watch and felt I had to make sure that she was breathing before I could continue. But you’re right about being in an alleyway and then there’s no one to watch out for over dose! Such a serious epidemic. Thank you for what you do.

Thank you for taking the time to read this piece, and your kind words. It means a lot. I agree with you: I think the open drug use policy was a bad idea-not good for the people struggling with addiction, and not good for society as a whole. I also want to say thank you for checking on the person you saw on slumped over. It shows your heart, and humanity. We need more of that!
